What songs can you sing (choir) for Mother's Day?
-
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any choir songs that strongly relate to Mothers Day. But here are some other possible ideas:
- Ask the First Lady of the church (the Mother of the church, ya know) if she has a favorite song that she would like to hear the choir sing.
- Sing an old traditional hymn or spiritual that your church hasn't done in a long time and dedicate it to the senior mothers in the church.
- One year, we had our children's choir sing for Mother's Day, and I think another year we had the Brotherhood Choir sing.
I'm interested to see what song suggestions come up for this.

You could find songs about what Christ does for us that mothers do for thier offspring.
A shepherd takes care of their sheep (song: Because the Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need)
I Love you (I love you Lord today, because you cared for me in such a special way)
Older Baptist hymns: Mother Prayed, and My Mther's Prayer

We tend to stay away from anything depressing or slow and sad (like I still hear mama praying, or I remember mama in a happy way etc.) due to the fact of Mother's day is hard for those who have lost mothers or mothers in hospitals or nursing homes etc. So in the past we've done things like Total Praise, We offer praise, etc.
