I'm thinking of getting new heads for my drumset. I can't make up my mind on which kinds to get. I have a sunlite drumset so the shells aren't all that great. Any suggestions?

What sound are you looking to get?

If you like a deep bass sound then get the remo ebony pinstripe or evans hydraulic. You can look on musiciansfriend.com
God bless you,

I want something kind of bright, something easy to tune, and doesn't need any muffling.

Thanks for the suggestion cckdl but I got the bass covered with a Impact 2 from Aquarian . :D

I like a bright sound and I use G2's (clear or coated) over clear G1's. This may not be the best choice on sunlite's shells. I would suggest you look into either the Evans Hydraulics or Remo Pinstripes or even Aquarian Studio X's. These will help control the overtones that you often get with the entry level kits. i played a cheesy ludwig when I first started and learned how to work with the ringiness.

Thanks

Its personally preference to you they all make good heads. All I can say though is don't get Aquarian snare heads if you are a heavy hitter I found that they bust pretty easily.

i'll play with remo pin stripe or evens G2...whichever is availble to me immediately...i guess that wasn't helpful at all.....
