Title: Praise & Worship Team Auditions?
Post by: denwalk on June 02, 2010, 08:34:12 AM
Quick question LGM fam. Does your church/ministry hold auditions for the Praise & Worship Team? I'm not talking about your choir, strictly for the select few that do P&W. If so, how do you hold your auditions, and who makes the selections?

I would assume that the MOM would conduct the auditions and make the selections along with the P&W leader (if they aren't one in the same).

Why would the audition process be different for the choir (if one is in such a position to have that many people)? ?/?

I don't think most churches have choir auditions, from what I've seen, they usually allow any member to join. :-\

we dont really have praise team auditions. Everybody who desires to sing on PW team, must first serve in mass choir. Then selections are made from there. Havent had many who have been committed to the process to become selected though. It is a great sorting process. Alot of folks like the prestige of pw without understanding what it truly is. They want their own mic, they want to be in front, get called for this or that, etc. So we make them serve first in a position that requiring less to see if they can be humble first.  My last MOM put that into practice, and I think its outstanding, so nobody thinks they're greater than the next person, because everybody serves on the choir.

I love this idea.

Yeah, I don't know any churches that have choir auditions. Not even the mega churches.
