I havent heard Akai mentioned in any serious circles for a long time.
action is important to me
and since midi is now the great equalizer.
if the price is right why not.

I have a roland Rd 700 sx
and I am really not that pleased with it.
it is ok
but I feel I could do better.

I play an Rd 700 weekly;but I'm NOT a legit piano man. What don't you like D,and what do you want to get into?

I think the Akai 88 is new;the action felt like Butta, better than studiologic ,RD 700'close to a Kurweil I used to have acess to.
