In just getting into recording,what is it that "fills" the sound out?
If you search "jazz organ" on u-tube for example-listen to anything by "Organissimo";the organ is mixed about perfect!! You have a great player and he has his sound sculpted.He's using an XK 3,which he's tweaked a bit,but sounds much better than anything I've heard in the store.
Now,it's a given that he has a good engineer,good mix etc..But what MAKES that good mix? How do you fill the sound out;other than EQ?plug ins? Or what plug ins? If you listen /search thru "live" performances there's the spontenaity factor but a lot of time get a "tinny" effect.
Again,past the obvious;i.e.,cheap mics,bad acoustics ;where is square 1? Especially with B3 clones?My Korg CX 3 sounds great thru the cans-but just getting started in putting down some tracks to cassette-while I'm waiting on a CD recorder.
