Title: Looking Out for Neumero Uno...
Post by: funkStrat_97 on August 08, 2010, 01:46:03 PM
...your spouse!  Men; we are instructed to love our wives even as Christ loved the church.  That's a pretty tall order.  In an ideal setting, a husband and wife are each others' better halves but there are times when you just have to give it all despite receiving nothing in return.  So having said that; in what ways do you show consideration of your spouse's needs above your own and how has it been reciprocated back to you?  This question is addressed to both husbands and wives.

I think of how to make her life better.  Im not talking about stroking her flesh, but the life within her.  Whether it be flowers, a phone call, a sexy comment texted, its not about always about the means but the meaning.  Depending on how you think, you do benefit.  Praying for her constantly not only covers her and blesses her, it also demands your constant relationship with God.  Listening to her talk (we know how that can go to, lets be real) shows consideration for her presence, but also works patience in you.  We also have to understand, as the bible says, we become one flesh.  So whatever you do for her you are doing for yourself, and whatever you speak of her, you are speaking on yourself.  Thats why I never speak any negative on my wife.  I may speak negative about an idea or an action, but never direct negativity towards her.  When you speak life into her, thats speaking life into the oneness, in essence, you.

My wife loves HGTV. I mean she could watch it for 8 hours a day every day.

I however don't really care for it.

During our marriage counseling we went to before marriage we were told to read a book called the five love languages. We never did finish the book LOL. But we did find our love language. Her's was quality time spent together.

So I watch HGTV with her and over the years I have grown to understand the channel.

In return I get to sit on the couch on hold my wife. We laugh, we talk, I may wrap my arms around her to make sure she feels secure, and we hang out together for about an hour or so. (I normally only last about an hour or so). We also dream

How does it come back to me? Well a happy wife is a happy life.
