Have you ever got to a point in your musical career where you kinda hate how you play? I know things come with time and practice, but do you feel like youre at a stand-still or is it just me? If so, how did you overcome it?

I feel you man. I think I'm some ways I might be in this exact spot. I don't know exactly how I'm gonna get out of it, but I think the first step is to reevaluate your goals as a musician. Once u do that, kinda take a look at ur skills now and see if they are on track with your personal goals.
Another thing that can help is to explore different types of music other than the style you currently play. Just learning new things can help reawaken that love that you lost. Anyone else with some more good advice, please feel free to share and be a blessing to your fellow musicians.

I absolutely know how you feel. I feel the same exact way right now. The only thing you can do is force yourself to keep trying. I have began to read over some of T-blocks posts about theory, I get input from others on how to change my playing, I invest in instructional dvds, I get on Youtube and look up different ways to play a song, I go to any webinar or lesson I can and lastly I pray and ask God to increase my desire to be the best I can be.

If I found myself in this kind of situation I would go headlong into the producing aspect of music. Producing another person's idea of music. I would get to hear the talents of another (essentially shedding) which can give me the sound I need to boost my own area. That's how I see the pro's do it.

All yall make great points. Its frustrating when I hear cats like Aaron Lindsey or Parris kill a piano. I also have to realize that these cats have put time in. Some also had formal training or came up under someone like Butch Heyward. Most of us had none (I def had none) I guess all we can do is keep going. I would really love to see how we turn out in say 5 years from now. I know alot of yall gon be mon-stars lol. Anyway thanks again for the encouragement. Sometimes thats better that practicing.
