if you play an Eb maj 7 th;Eb G Bb D over an Eb bass (pedal bass) pinky, middle finger, index finger then add F with ring finer and use thumb for C +D with your left hand is this a maj 7 th add 2(F) or a 9th.
playing this on the lower manual of an organ( or one set of keys and have the bass player hold down the bottom) opens up all kinds of stuff to groove over.

O.K., let me get this straight:
Eb / Eb-G-Bb-D + F, C, D = Eb/ C-D-Eb-F-G-Bb-D
Is this what you're asking me? If so, it's an EbM13. The addition of the C makes it a 13th chord.
If not, then could u repeat the question better or spell it out how you're playing it.

no;the chord s voiced the way I laid out the fingering.Started with the Eb maj 7 th-then "crushed" the F + C into it
Eb/Eb F G Bb CD(thumb plays C+D)-so the F is a 2nd or a 9 th (just odd way to voice a 9th) with the C (6th) in there also.
Maybe a ploychord-but it has a nice sound-a joyful accident

Hey, Doc, you couldn't find a place for Ab in that chord?
-
O.K., so this is your chord: Eb / C-D-F-G-Bb?
If so, that's an EbM7 6/9 chord. I use that one all the time.

A major 7 6/9 chord? I thought the def. of a 6/9 chord was there is NO 7. Wouldn't it be a EbM9add13?

Name that chord -- is this a game show? what are the prizes? lol
