Title: portable pa systems

I would like to know has anybody used the fender passport systems or peavey unit and how was the sound  for traveling outings with choirs at different churces

The P250 sounds decent for vocals, but when I lined my keyboard into it and pushed it (a little) the sound became distorted.  It's a decent unit, but for the price I believe tha you would be better off purchasing an amp, mixer, eq, and speakers/monitors.  You'll have a wider range of control and better results.
