Jeremiah 27:5. "I have made the earth, man and beast that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give them unto whom it seemeth right in mine eyes." This word was spoken to Jeremiah by Jehovah Himself in preface to His announcement that He was about to give all the lands of the East to Nebuchadnezzar and his sons for three generations.
Daniel 4:17. "..that the living may know that the Most High ruleth over the kingdoms of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men." The great ruler of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, had considered his kingdom to be something of his own accomplishment. An angel appeared to him in a dream and foretold him that his kingdom would be temporarily taken from him until he learned the above stated lesson. The message was repeated almost verbatim by Daniel when he was called in to interpret the dream.
This is the word of God. We do not expect non-Christians to accept that their rulers hold their offices by a direct decision on the part of God. But we do expect Christians to believe it and act as do those who believe it. If one believes the first part of the statement to Jeremiah, that Jehovah made the earth, he must equally believe the second - that Jehovah installs the rulers.
Clearly, God choses who will be in power and who will not be in power. As such it does not matter if you vote or not.

I dont vote anymore... just me though
-
I vote...mainly cuz of those who died and protested for 'us" just to have to privilege.

Yea, me too.

But by your voting or not voting, you are contributing to God's plan for how He chooses to put those in power in power.
Not voting is pointless by the same logic.
*nods head*

I dont really vote either. I really dont care who's in office.

they also died and protested so we can ride at the front of the bus. Does that mean I should take the bus every once in a while and sit in the front? ;D ;D

you could easily save an hour of time by not voting ... or 5 mintues if you do early voting or absentee voting so there is an advantage to not voting
*again I actually don't care about this topic I vote but I'm bored*

To me, not voting simply because God has supposedly pre-destined the political winners since the beginning of time seems to be a way of practicing a sort-of defeatist mentality.
It's like "Well, God's already picked the winner, so why even bother to vote?"
Just to be clear, is that what I'm interpreting?
If so, why do anything? God will do it, right?

Good thoughts, Dave. And as usual, that always takes me back to the whole mind-boggler that is free will. In the end, we can say "God already knows" about any and everything... so where does free will come in?
Mannnn whatever. I'm not getting into this so early in the morning. LOL. I'm a voter and will be until God snatches the breath from my body. It's not just a "civic duty" to me or any sort of obligation. It's my pleasure, it's a joy to vote. I get excited every year (not just for presidential or gubernatorial elections, either). I love voting! (Though I do hate voting in Georgia :().

In foresight free will exists
In hindsight freewill does not exist
That is the paradox of the day
Its almost a haiku but not quite[/url]

And thus is the paradox of religion and faith. Parts of the Bible can be interpreted to say that since God is all knowing and all seeing, He knows what you will do, think, or say before you do. Other parts can be interpreted to mean that all things move through God and all things are done according to his will.
Together these can be interpreted to mean that nothing you or I do will matter in the end, because it is all pre-destined. Or at the very least, what we THINK is free will is merely a chess move in God's pre-measured plan.
I prefer to think of God as being laissez faire with regard to the activities of man, with a firm grasp of the measure at time of judgement. Think about it.....if God has pre-ordained our every thought, breath, and action, what is there to judge on judgement day? So if you believe there is a judgement at the end of earthly life, than you by derivation believe that your actions matter. And if voting as an act you can choose to pursue or not pursue, than the outcome of your engagement in this activity is most likely not pre-determined.
In short.....vote.
