Title: BEGINNER QUESTION! Chord and left hand bass.
Post by: gospelkeys06 on September 29, 2011, 11:15:42 AM
Okay so randomly let's say I have some idea's for a chord progression and already know some righthand chords. These would be more complex chords not just play a c major with a c in your left hand. How do I get my bass note? Or know what to play in the left hand? Is it something of looking at the scale and getting it that way? Thanks for any tips, help, etc!!!! Stay blessed!!!! I mean for like diminished, and other bigger chords or are those bigger chords like 9, 11,13 use for passing chords?

Normally, you should build chords from the bottom up. However, for the most part the bass note will be a note of the chord. If you are familiar with the number system, finding bass notes is a piece of cake.
