....two-year minimum contract required (http://news.yahoo.com/til-2013-us-part-mexico-mulls-2-marriage-232608285.html) :-\ I wonder how much they charge for an "early termination fee"?

I have two admittedly conflicting comments.
1. That's so dumb. How about just NOT getting married until you are "75 year contract sure" he or she is the one.
2. I suggested the same thing not too long ago. :D Although I don't agree with the concept, it WOULD accomplish lowering the divorce rate. :-\
But yeah. See #1.

Maybe instead of calling it a marriage, it can be referred to as a legal or contractual engagement? So you're licensed to enjoy the LEGAL benefits of marriage (like filing taxes together, you can even change your name if you want to, etc.), but you're still not married.
I think this really decreases the value of the institute of marriage and further contributes to the disintegration of family.

I think that this is a far greater threat to traditional marriage than even gay marriage. If you can easily get out of a marriage after two (or however long) years and move on;, then what's the point of getting married in the first place? And ironically (as you mentioned) the divorce rate would theoretically decrease!

Hmmmm.....

Anyone who considers this doesn't want to get married.

I just wish people would custom-write their vows to reflect something they can live with without going back on their word. "Till death do us part, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health" covers a WHOLE LOT. What if he... What if she... What if I.... You gotta think about that stuff before running off your mouth with "I do."

TRUE-ism!!!
For better or worse is a biggie that most people really don't understand.

Makes sense to me
I don't agree with it
