Title: Not sure if you want a Korg Kronos?
Post by: ltljake on December 10, 2011, 01:10:14 PM
Check out this video. Of course a keyboard is more than just a piano sound, but this video will make you just that much more informed.....of the piano sound.  ;D

Yep, sounds good. I sampled it on Fri.

But tell me, should the Kronos 76 keys be more expensive than the motif xs88/ the Tyros? I just lost interest when I saw the price where I was sampling it.

I also like the arpeggio feature.

considering what the Kronos brings to the table (in the complete picture)....  short answer is yes.  but I got my Kronos 88 for $2999 in August (which is a steal if you ask me) brand new.  It just depends on what you need/want and how you're going to use it.  My gear pays for itself over time.  So cost is always justified for me.

Absolutely.

The problem here is that it's going for double of the price you paid for yours!

The last time I checked, I can't even buy certain brands online and get the seller to ship to me >:(

I'm in South Africa.
Nowadays when I'm sampling equipment I first sample and then look at the price afterwards, otherwise I will be off-put by the price instantly.
Thanks for the generous thought man..

I don't know Doc..All I know is that music shops want to make their cut.

The Motif XS is about $4500 here from the reputable music shops. The only decent deals I've seen were some private sellers I found from the net [but how can you just give $2500 to a stranger who doesn't even have a website or any testimonials- just a phone number/ email]?

The reason I even bought a lower end keyboard here was because the reputable online shops could not ship what I wanted to get some time back.. >:(

At the prevailing price tags, only churches [and not too many] or performing artists afford the luxury of owning stations like the Kronos here....us part timers would search deep for 2nd hands- which are rare to come across :(
