Been checking out the Forum on comments about bass strings, and let me tell you now, I've used all strings but never DR strings until three days ago I bought the DR HI-Beams. They are no doubt the best sounding strings you'll ever use or hear. I have two bass systems, one is a new Ampeg SVT-3 Pro head and new SVT-410 HLF cab, the other is my OLD work-horse and reliable Peavey Combo 115, and what a difference my bass sounds on both systems with the new DR stings. A friend of mine who is also a bass player has a Gallien Kruger bass amp and I plugged my bass into his amp and what a solid THROATY and growling sound from his Kruger.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone who has been claiming how great DR strings are, well, I am another convert to DR.
Bless everyone

Yea but how long are they gonna sound that beautiful for, thats the real test.

I've also had really good experiences with DR strings. They retain their sound for quite a while and they sound nice even when they're starting to go dead. The hi-beams are probably my favorite, but I also dig the Marcus Miller signature set...fat beams or whatever they're called.

I was wondering if the Marcus Miller strings are similiar to the DR hi-beams or do they sound more punchy, lower or throaty. You know how it goes, you find a new toy and then after awhile you get tired of it, so drop a line about the Marcus strings, appreciate it.

Richiee,
You got it...the MM sig. set has a nice low mid thump going while still retaining the snap of the hi-beams. Go ahead and try a set next time you change strings; you can always go back to the hi-beams.
