What are your rehearsal days and times?
We are resuming rehearsals and I'm trying to find when would be the best days and times.
-
Worst day is Saturday. Havent joined a church yet that has a saturday rehearsal
-
:o Why is Saturday a bad day? I was considering one Saturday a month.
-
My home church choir does Friday night rehearsals, the other adult choir I direct does Monday nights. The attendance is fine at both of those.
The youth choir does Saturday afternoons (that's at a church that has its services on Saturday evenings). Youth choir is the one with the shakiest attendance, but a weeknight wouldn't be any better because parents don't want their kids out late on school nights.

for people like me (Im a teacher) and others who have to either bring work home with them or stay extra late, giving up a sat sucks because you havent been able to do anything throughout the week. So I usually just take one of those days, stay a little later at the job and go straight to rehearsal on say a tuesday or thursday, then I'll have the weekend to myself.

:-* Ok. would you be open to 1 Sat a month? I'm thinking of doing 2 Thursdays and a Saturday.
-
It depends on your people, and their schedule. Our information is only good for you if we were on your praise team/choir.
With that said, we rehearse Thursday evenings weekly.
And, I would HATE a Saturday rehearsal.

Every Thursday eve, from 7 to 9pm.
And the rule is if you miss Thursday, you're sitting out Sunday.
re: Saturdays...
At my last church we had a Saturday morning rehearsal. This was because the leader ONLY had Sat. morning free, so we did it for about a year and people griped and one or two people dropped off the team, but we survived.
At the church before that we had a Saturday rehearsal, too, but it was in the afternoon (3pm) and then we'd gather for a meal before the first service @ 6:30pm on Saturday night.
That really worked well, imho, because not only were the songs fresh in our minds for the service, but the food, fellowship and prayer time was just amazing. We went into that first service fired up, filled up and ready to worship. :)

If it is with kids, I definitely advise Saturday. But not in the morning, you can't get kids to do anything music wise before noon with them. For other people, I think it kind of depends on them. I would talk to the music staff and some key leaders about dates and times. You can't please everyone, but its better pleasing some key people than no one at all.

Mostly it depends on the week but idk what days are the best. I would say Saturday but at the same time after a long week you want a day to yourself. Weekdays are good but after working 8-5 you almost don't want to do anything else.
So idk.
