Title: A new discovery for me
Post by: dwest2419 on October 01, 2012, 08:16:57 PM
A new discovery just came to me of how I play scales. I just learned that scales are supposed to be played fast so that the only note that supposed to be heard is the root note of the scale you start and end with. What I used to do is, when playing scales, I would be lingering on some notes other than the root note holding certain notes other than holding the root note down.

I have no idea what you're talking about in your first post, but I echo Sketch's sentiments.

Well....if only the root is to be heard; then why not forget the scale altogether and just tremolo pick the root note of each scale?
