Title: Learning key by key
Post by: timbass2882 on December 15, 2012, 06:29:58 PM
I was wondering if it was best to learn one key at a time or try learning all 12 keys at one time. I know there's no set rules but what is the norm.

I recommend learning all of em at the same time. If you learn one key at a time, there is a chance to get comfortable in a key and fail to move on in learning the others, opening the door for that "transpose" demon to walk in, lol.

I agree. If you learn simple songs in every key you will see that you will start playing the same chords in a different key. If you start out early practicing in every key it will be easier for you later on. If you don't it will be harder to change later on.
