Title: I hsve to learn this song in a week and I have a question..

Kurt Carr Magnify The Lord.

In the beginning.. between 0:08 and around 0:11 ... that is the bass doing that right.. because it sounds almost like a drum but what is that like a muted slap..?

I will be playing this on the 24th.. and we will probably rehearse next week ... Wednesday.. so I have to be ready by then.. but I am trying to figure what that is and how he did it.

Sounds like drums to me as well. I wouldn't get so caught up in trying to 'recreate' the exact bassline anyway. Especially some minor details as that. As long as you hit the right notes at the right time and serve the song!
