Title: Brubaker Brute MJXSC-5
Post by: stix_clgi on September 12, 2013, 03:26:19 PM
What's up yall, it's been a minute. I picked up a Brubaker Brute a few weeks ago, and for anyone trying to decide what their next bass will be....this needs to be it!!

Mine is the single-cut, MM/J version, and personally I think it's the best Brute they offer. The MM pup has coil switching, allowing for single coil for straight up and aggressive Jazz bump, to dual coil for the MusicMan type cut. It's a bit heavy, but balances perfectly, and the neck joint makes it easy to play all the way up to the 22nd fret if you want.

The only gripe I had initially is that the string spacing is a full 19mm, like a standard J-bass. But I'm coming from a Peavey Cirrus, and that 1.5mm difference hurt my hand for a minute until my muscle memory adapted to it.

You guys should definitely check them out if you can. Brubaker makes them in the MM/J or the J/J, both in 4 and 5-string versions. They also make double-cut MM/J and J/J versions. The double cuts can be bought with maple fretboard too.

I'll be working on one soon; quite a few people have videos of the Brute's on Youtube, but I'll add mine as well I suppose

Lol, get one while you can, they only ship limited numbers at a time, to keep QC levels high, so it may be a few months before the next batch comes.

I don't think my wife would like the price that's why I'm teleporting yours. :)

HAHA! Well I have a transport inhibitor and molecular scrambler installed on mine, so good luck getting "locked on"  :P

Try the "guitar as an investment" bit....it might work. I mean, I'm not married, but there's no way that line won't work ;D

Let me know how it goes.......

Your supposed to say the instruments you will obtain in the future are an investment. The ones you have now are the nest eggs....
