Title: Payment options for a small business

What are some options out their besides paypal that you use to receive compensation from your clients?

honestly, for small businesses your best bet is through paypal. Now with paypal you don't need to have an account. Other options can become a little pricey. I am a web developer and this is what I usually tell my small business clients.

What kind of business do you run?

If you have a bank account, you may be able to set up Direct Deposits or transfers using your phone# or email address.
Bank of America among others does this...

Paypal is cool, but the fees add up. I prefer cash or check if possible.

I also have square.  In my line of work, I find that people will say they will send payment and never get around to it, so I can do square on the spot.  Even though there is the fee...

The thing about Paypal, is that I can send an invoice and the client can click on it and pay.  Many of my clients are out of state, so that's very helpful.

Thanks for your thoughts. I have the "free" version of paypal right now. However I have never used it. I guess I need to refresh myself on its policies.

amazon also does a web payments service. Good name for credibility but I think as far as clients overall comfort level, paypal takes it, even though they are the most expensive. Especially with all this identity theft stuff happening, people need names they know.

I was considering using one of these services for family reunion registrations. Paypal has all the features to allow you to create web buttons, easy payment sign ups, etc.

if you use quickbooks to manage your finances intuit has a whole line of things for you
