Title: How do you play?

The " I'll take you there" bass lick?  For some reason, I have trouble with that, and usually skip a note or two.  I even use some open strings.  It is tricky-the last seven notes.  Can't get going fast enough the way I finger it.

I've been playing that song for over 40 years now. I'll try and do a video of how I play it  but it's an easy song overall to play.

Yes,  DW, people seem to play it easily.  I'm probably fingering it wrong.  Thanks for your response, and any info offered.

I play it finger style, occasionally tossing in ghost notes.  I doubt I play it the same way twice, if you consider the placement and timing of ghost notes.

I don't usually use open strings on this one.  For some reason, fretting A on the E string always feels and sounds better for me.  Not just this song.  I just feel like I have more control over how the note rings.

Not sure where you may be skipping notes or what you call the last seven notes.  Maybe you are talking about the part where it sort of turns around.  Runs up, then back down.  G-A-C-A-C, C, G-A-C-A-G-F, (F octave). Different variations of that.

I play,  G--A (open string) C--A (open string)C--C,  G--C---C---F low F high, Skipping notes.If I play slowly, I can get the extra notes in, but it drags.

Will try to record my video tonight. Been a busy week. I play it C..C..GAC,AGF (high F) GACAC.....rinse and repeat. I do slide my hand down to the F from the G though . I kinda do it pretty fast.
