Title: I'm wanting to learn how to follow a solo singer....help

Greetings!  I want to learn how to follow a solo singer on the organ and I really don't know where to start with it.  How did you learn? Is there a strategy?  For example, when Dorinda Clark-Cole sings the beginning of "I'm still Here" what should I look for and do?
