Title: STicks
Post by: ltcc on April 07, 2005, 02:02:19 PM
I found myself a new pair of sticks that i will be useing from now on.  I don't know if anyone uses these but i do. They are the sound percussion fusions and the vater fusions. i know people use those ones. but these sound percussions are right. these things are great. on some serious stuff. i still use the vic firth gerald heward sticks.  I don't like using the 7a's any more.  They break to easy. speacially when i get into the zone.  But check them sound percussions out.

I use to play with the sound percussion funk series until I went to Vater Recordings. I like the funks and I would recommend them to anyone..

You should get some aluminum drumsticks. I don't know the name of them but the ends never split and the drumskicks never break. But they are expensive. They cost $29.99 for one pair. You can find them on musiciansfriend.com

what the heck Aluminum sticks how do you play with them things they are crazy i can't play with them it doesn't feel right but hey whateva makes you feel and play better that is you but personaly what i use is Gerald Heyward Sticks, vic firth makes them. those sticks are the greatest , espcially when you get in a tight groove.

i still loike the gerald heyward sticks still use them but them sound percussion funk's  and vater fusion's are my new sticks to use. cause i like the round tips (the ball tips) better than anything else.

Concerning sticks, I have used everything from  light to heavy but have settled on the Vic Firth Thomas Lang signature model. They are big sticks but after a year and a half of playing with them I can control and manipulate them pretty good They are fairly expensive so I am going to use the Vater Shedders as my back ups as they are the same weight and length.
I practice with weighted aluminum and brass sticks and drumcorp sticks so everything feels light to me now. I use what I consider light on a moongel pad and use the heavier stuff on my realfeel pad.
