Yooo, Da1, I wandered over from bassland...
You must be from VA or DC.  Halla!  I think Go-Go in church would be innovative.  I would be down.  It would be a great way to reach youth.
I grew up on Go-Go, and  I think it's one of the best forms of music that people don't know of.  It's regional.  I'm currently in NC, and can't find anything (that hasn't been mainstreamed) good in the stores.

If you haven't guessed, I'm from VA.

God Bless

More like taking a piece of music and bringing the pitch down on it...without degrading the music (quality-wise)

Here's a example...my fav one actually from b3wannabe..Tonex, Bout A Thang!

It's funny that people relate Go-Go to "screw" music.  Why is it you don't relate Contemporary Gospel to "screw" music?  What do you think Contemporary means?  It's contemporary musical ideas (R&B, Blues, Jazz, Go-Go) with religious words.  Some of the same contemporary ideas used in music (that we all play in church) were used 25 years ago to "make babies".
Case and point... Rain on Us? you know the song... God of mercy, God of love, rain on us from heaven above...  it has a musical interlude that ain't nothing but She's a Bad Mama-Jama! What you didn't notice???  8O
I just wish church folk would dispose of the condesention and rhetoric...
The true purpose is to reach souls for Christ.  Which would you rather...
a person shaking it in the club or shaking the devil loose in the church?
A beat is a beat!

You can hear some Go-Go music in hip-hop and R&B. Listen to Amerie's song "1 Thing" to get an idea.  For those of you who don't know who Amerie is, she is an R&B singer.

Okay... this is going to sound kind of off to you PG and DC folks but....

I am originally from Baltimore and was introduced to Go-Go by my wife and let me say this with as much umph as I can...

I have been to a praise and worship service with a live go-go band.  And dare I say...

THAT WAS ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!  I AM TALKING AWESOME WITH A CAPITAL "T"....  I MEAN "A"

For those of you who may be listening to Go-Go for the first time through the website that was offered, I have tell you, a recording does not give this style of music any justice.  If you ever get a chance to see this live, you will then have a greater appreciation for the recording.  I would highly encourage anyone and everyone to visit the DC area and see for yourselves.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY HOMIES IN DC AND BALITMORE FROM SAN ANTONIO TEXAS... (where I am stationed right now)

PEACE
