Good Morning Everybody!
I'm in need of a good song for "GIVING TIME" as well as "COMMUNION TIME". I would appreciate any assistance I can get.
YOUR PROMISE FOR TODAY IS BIGGER THAN YOUR PROBLEM OF YESTERDAY!
Have a great day.

During communion at my church they often sing "I Know It Was The Blood".
-
At my church, we sing the following hymns: Let Us Break Bread, There Is A Fountain and Calvary.
-
One other thought.....what might be an appropriate song to sing on Communion Sunday (not during the actual communion ceremony) would be At The Table by Richard Smallwood. 8)
-
For Tithes & Offering:
I Can Do All Things
I'm Looking for a Miracle (No Kidding)
Hallelujah, It's Giving Time
(Depends on the mood, sometimes something slow and reflective, other times, upbeat to get them moving energetically.)
For Communion:
Let Us Break Bread Together
I Know It Was The Blood
The Blood That Jesus Shed
O The Blood
-
We do the song "Tithes and Offerings" by Shirley Caesar at giving time.
-
We do:
Communion:
Oh the Blood (Brooklyn Tabernacle)
What Can Wash Away My Sins
The Blood (will never lose its power)
Offering:
Give (and it will come back to you)
Glorify the Lord
I Can Run Through a Troop
depends on the mood at the time

My old church would play a recording of a song that I liked...
"In Remembrance of You"....
Don't know who it was sung by, all I know is it sounded old and was sung by what sounded like an older Brotha.
the chorus was like...
I will... Re... member... you...........
I will .......re... member you.......
----------------------------------------------
We do........ this, in remembrance.....
we do.ooooo... this in remembrance
we docooooooooc... this in remembrance
of you........

I was debating whether I should respond  to this and here's why.
At my church, we don't necessarily songs that deal with (offering) specifically. The general "rule" is something up-tempo or what some folks would call "marching music". Am I the only "different" one in the LGM family?
As for communion, the standards "blood" songs are usually sung.
There I said it, wheew, what a relief that was. I feel better.

For OFFERING I usally do "The Offering Song" off of Joe Pace latest cd.
For COMMUNION there is also "O The Blood" off the cd as well. Be Blessed.

No, you're not the only one...at our church during collection, the muscians usually play softly, up-tempo "walking music", (as our pastor calls it). And we usually do the old traditional blood songs.

Hey family!!!
For offering time at my church I usually do " The FIGHT that never Ends"
or "Sow my Seed" or O Give Thanks Unto to the Lord...
Communion songs.. all the blood songs, At Calvary or anything methodical depending on the mood of the saints..... We do alot ot traditional stuff during this time period.....
