Title: WHICH BASE SHOULD I LISTEN TO
Post by: Juvenile on December 16, 2003, 09:28:46 PM
I'M TRYING TO WORKKOUT A SONG, WHEN PEEPS SAY LISTEN TO THE BASE NOTES, DO THEY MEAN THE BASE OF THE CHORDS OR THE ACTUALL BASE.

THERE'S AN RNB SONG I'M TRYING TO WORKOUT, I CAN HEAR SOME MELODY AND BASS, I MEAN LIKE REAL BASE.

I PRAY THAT SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS MY QUESTION. :?:

LISTEN TO THE BASE NOTES?

I'm sure that whoever's giving you this advice means "BASS NOTES" and not "BASE NOTES", although the concept is still about the same.

"I MEAN LIKE REAL BASE."???

HUH?

Personally, I think you're trying to learn too much too fast, and you're confusing yourself. In my opinion, you should just practice following the bass in the songs that you like, and also practice your scales. Don't even think about chords and progressions right now! You may understand some of this, but every now and then some people's brain need a break. It may be lunch time for you now....just my two cents.
