And another one...Can't wait for yall katz.  It's so much in my head right now, I can't sleep.  Check this next one.  Note the quadslap...Kinda sloppy because my pointer and thumb and blistered.  (Might need a medic).  I also am now playing a 5 string, cause I got carried away (broke my high c).  So some of my runs are out for now.  But don't fret, the man should be calling me any moment to pick up that nice BTB 1206 you see me advertise on my practice gallery in BrownFloyd.com (shot out to B3).  Any, I'm getting bored because so this will be my last clip until somebody gets my juice going or I get my string, whichever come first.

Well I've only been playing bass for about 5 years so i'm in the right bracket.
Funny thing about the changes on this solo were using is that I just got back from a salsa gig were we played a song with the same changes in the same key. I was going to do another recording when I got home from the gig but i'm rist is a little in pain. It's been a while since i've done a 3 hour set. I'm a little out of shape right now.  Maybe tomorrow.

Title: Thought I'd take you all back
Post by: Spiritfingers on October 18, 2005, 09:21:44 AM
Actually Lady, I got the idea from Debra Killings.

She did that on here DVD...the encore presentation...she did and renditon of "Thank you for lettin me be myself...again..."  I'm not sure who sings the original peice.  I'm sure it's one of those 70's groups like the O'Jays, EWF or somebody.  When I heard the beat, I just had to go for it.  As a matter of fact, the first bass lines I learned were funk driven.

Yeah I'm have fun.

I guess I betta step up and push something new out, huh?   I may try something this afternoon before prayer meeting.  Family came by to visit yesturday, so that cut into my practice time.  It was necessary though, support was needed.

Title: Yeah
Post by: Spiritfingers on October 21, 2005, 01:21:45 AM
:o Yeah, Only someone that was a fan of deminished chords would come up with something like that.  Obviously Lady break the code on your sick little Jazz influenced mind.  I could have never though to solo on top of that.

Gospel deals with so many basic chords that we don't think to go there as musicians a lot because we don't hear it a lot.  Plus, the wrong chord played and the wrong would make the climate.  I appreciate someone stepping out the box though.

I need to listen to a little more Jazz.  Not a huge fan of it but I can see the need to listen to it now to better develop my ear.

Well guys ... what can I say    ... I don't really solo.  This week I've been workn on modes as to solo.  Surprisingly, it was easier this round then the 1st to come up with something.  At the same time, I always have in mind patterns and techniques that i've learned over the years and even recently to incorporate.

sixstring... thanks brothaman

B3 ... don't trip ... embrace  :)   .... I was gonna do a video of it lastnight, but I think I left my webcam at church ... so that will come lata

Spirit ... back in my teen years ... other then gospel my mother allowed us to listen to jazz ... I did a lot of horn practices listening to that ... luv gospel jazz now

Mike .. u r right .. I was having fun, more so when I came up with something that I liked/worked

What kind of webcam do you use?

Standby for more from FINGAZ, MY BTB 1206 came in yesterday and I've just been getting to know her.

8O  8O That's nice. I wonder how the worship music is over there?

I enjoyed your church praise and worship video. The little girl dancing was cute. It reminds me of on of the church mothers from Africa. Maybe some friends and I will swing by one day when we are up there. We still have a trip planned to go to one of my pastor's churches up in DC. I don't know if you heard of it. It's called Refuge Temple. Elder Michael Fields is the assistant pastor.
