I got this bass for a 100.00.
Does anyone have any experience with one?
Washburn Bantam XB-600

Are you sure it's not a XB-100? That's what I have, unless yours is a five string, then that might be case. Anyway,I have a four string Washburn Bantam XB-100,it cost me $200 new, with a gig bag I also purchsed. It really has served me well over the years,I'm not regretting it or anything.I was going to get the five string model than decided I didn't care for the P-bass type pickups in it. A fiver needs those long jazz bass pups IMO. I think the guitar holds its own, while the pups could be better the neck is smooth and it has a nice feel to it. I like it.

Yes, It's a 6 string Bantam XB-600 Black. It sounds good and I can't believe I got it for 100.00 dollars

Neither can I! Have you talked to your pastor about this?
lol! Hey,I'm glad you got a good deal ,Bro! What kind of pickups does it have? P'bass,Jazz,or humbuckers?
-
It has 2 humbuckers active and a switch that's a pickup converter.
I have a Ibanez SR406 which is my main bass, But last night I switched.

I just got one off ebay for under 3 bills. This will be my first six-string so I'm putting in some hours
in private before I bring it out.

The XB-600 was designed by Grover Jackson when he was part of the Washburn family before he would venture out on his own company...Jackson/Charvel. The bass itself came out in early 90's and was priced at around $1,200. You must have a different
version from the one I pruchased from ebay cause I don't have a switch. It might have been modified for the previous owner.
The controls are as follows clockwise from the players POV: Bass, Treble, Balancer, and Main.

Thanks for the info. I'm try Washburn, but they could give me no info. My Bass has a XB600B tag on the back. It has Knobs clockwise.
1. Volume (master)
2. Bass
3. Treble
4. 3 positionToogle swith (Blend bridge & Neck Pickup) or seperate.
I enjoy playing it. A brighter sound than my Ibanez SR406

(imitating game show host) CONGRATULATIONS! You've just answered my question!
You see...that might a later model of the XB600. Check the head of the bass where the "Washburn" logo is displayed. Does
the words "Designed by Grover Jackson" underneath it? If not...it's a later version.

I tried mine out last night at rehearsal. :oWHEW! This bass has serious attitude!

I got a reply back from Washburn Burn after three months of I know know from them.
They thinks it a 94 model because the serial number starts with S409****.
They sent a picture but it did not have the toggle switch like mines.
It does not have the Grover Jackson name on it.
And by pickup are W671 & W 673.
They think it was a custom job.
I practice last night and it jam as always.

So in all truth... :D you got a very good deal. THUMBS UP!
