Title: I have a question concerning the chord progression "I, IV, V, I"

I would jes' like 4 someone to tell me what in the world is so popular about this in Gospel music!!!!!!
Somebody tol' me that there was a set of chords that I could play almost any Gospel song with.
Can NE1 help me out here?????
