Title: Moeller Technique... Repost taught by Jeff Queen
Post by: SabianKnight on May 03, 2006, 10:07:43 AM
I posted this months ago befoe everyone went gaga over or even heard of Derrick Pope. Here it is again from rudimental giant, Jeff Queen (So this is coming from a marching standpoint where the Moeller technique originated).

Derrick Pope did an nice job making people feel comfortable in the use on the drumset and got more extensive with practice exercises however he wasn't clean enough for me. Probably because that soft practice pad was sitting on a towel and shifting as it was hit... not good for demonstration purposes. I felt he shorted the fundamental of the technique so here is a short but straight forward and adaptable presentation of the Moeller Technique.

*** Note I am still working to master the technique and I appreciated Derrick Popes instructional clip. I am going to buy his DVD when it comes out. I have ben using/working on the moeller for a good while and started learning it from the Jim Chapin vid so I am spoiled by certain methods of instruction.

Nice! I think that DVD will be moving towards the top of my list!!! He is definitely cleaner than Pope. (Maybe Popes white shirt he was wearing has something to do with that?)  ;D ;D ;D

God Bless.
