yall when u work on your rudiments the hol point is to work on speed and technique and making it clean rite so drum pros and teachers say the strength that give u speed comes from your forearms. so if u workout on you fore arms will it help your speed?? just wondering

Are you speaking of a singular rudiment in your topic header, or are you referring to rudiments (which would denote more than one). *grammar, tsk, tsk...*
Anyway, I am not sure who told you that tidbit of information, but I can tell you that it's a combination of three things - forearm, wrist and fingers. ALL three are integral to the success of control (which is the most important thing - check the signature) and speed (which again, is the byproduct of control).

The point of rudiments is never speed. Always control. Strong Fundamentals equal expanded vocabulary. Music and drumming is about communication... without a vocabulary you have nothing to say.
As J_Kay says it's wrist fingers and foreams together. Different strokes call on different aspects.

Go back through my old posts.... Find you a knowledgable and qualified instructor. As you acheive new levels there may come a point that you need to change instructors. If you are week in rudiments get with a rudimetal/drum corp instructor, if you are week in jazz get a jazz instructor, latin get a Latin/Afro-Cuban and or Brazilian instructor - Certain thisngs you almost have to get from the cultural source.
