Title: Brand new to the Guitar....

If I am bbrand new to the Guitar, where should I start????

Check out the "need help with my guitar" post.

I would also tell you to become familiar with the names of the strings, and learn where your notes are--this helps when it's time to learn barre chords.  

Do you play any other instruments?  If so, there's a lot you can "transfer" to the guitar and speed up your learning process.

Learn how to tune by ear, any beginner's book will cover this.

Get a chord book, or one of those nifty posters from Wal-Mart, or something.

....THERE ARE SO MANY QUESTIONS!....LIKE WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BE PLAYING?..ROCK..POP...JAZZ...GOSPEL..COUNTRY?OR WHAT?....DO YOU HAVE A GUITAR YET?...AND WHAT KIND OF GUITAR?....IS IT ACOUSTIC OR ELECTRIC?.....DO YOU HAVE THE MONEY FOR LESSONS?...OR DO YOU PREFER BOOKS?......PLEASE POST THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS SO EVERYONE CAN HELP YOU LEARN JUST THE WAY YOU WANT TO!....
