The question is, does anyone play in that Mahalia Jackson style? My pastor would like me to learn this style. There are a number of vids of Mahalia on youtube.com; check out one I have posted below. This style has a lot of layers to it. I cannot begin to think of how to learn it as I am still learning basic songs. (Note, I have posted this topic in a couple of places- not sure where it belongs)
Additional questions:
1. What is the name of that piano style?
2. What are the basic patterns or progressions used in this style
3. What are the basic scales used (like I would understand the answer!)
