I know we go through alot of repeated threads about songs for different occassions, but if these could pinned in the forum where this would be appropriate (I don't know where that will be but the mods could help us out on that) for these. That way it'll be there for people to refer to, ask for addiditional suggestions, or whatever instead of adding a new thread since these topics are always popping up ever so often... it'll will be appreciated ;D
Let's start it off again...
What are songs that deal w/ heaven, homegoings, celebration of life...any gospel/inspirational song that fits along that theme that's appropriate for a funeral/homegoing? Here's a few I can think of, what are others?
(Note: please try to keep it related to the theme provided, while I know family members may requests songs, or choirs want to sing something fast, or whatever the case, keep in mind we're trying to compile a list specific with this particular theme.)

True choirs, people sing other songs, but the purpose of this thread is to compile songs that deal w/ heaven, homegoings, celebration of life...any gospel/inspirational song that fits along that theme that's appropriate for a funeral/homegoing. ;)

That I understand, sometimes families don't like to have songs that have to do with heaven and homegoing in them, because it accents (so to speak) the death of their loved one, but prefer songs of praise which is why I added those. ;)

And that I understand which is why I stated at the beginning of thread:

So this may sound like I'm repeating myself again.. I do understand family members may have their own personal requests for songs that have nothing to do w/ homegoings, heaven, ect., but this thread is specifically dealing w/ songs that deal w/ this theme. So I'm not knocking songs that don't deal w/ this theme that are song at funerals but just wanting to compile a list of songs that deal w/ heaven, homegoing. :)

@ Long Fingers - Thanks for sharing the list.
Choosing the right funeral songs is a task. It also depends on what kind of songs the person who has passed away liked. But one should have a list of appropriate funeral songs. I came across http://www.caring.com/search?query=funeral+songs (http://www.caring.com/search?query=funeral+songs) for some nice funeral songs.
