James hall is known for doing that. I think he's wearing them in all his youtube vidieos.

I dont wear shades, but I think they should be removed when indoors. wearing them indoors, esp. at night, just looks bad

And it does look kinda gay when some men wear them. not all.

The only person I don't mind seeing in shades is James Hall, and that's because it's his trademark and he's been doing that forever...

Other than that, I think it's pretty uncool and pretty dumb.

And an even worse offense, IMO, is hats, do-rags, and any other headwear in church.  But, I think we already covered that topic.

haha Wolfman you crazy... now i do like the square style type shades, I wont say I would wear them during service but afterwards, of course. Those big class that cover up half yor face are cute depending on who is wearing them

I honestly don't see it any different than outrageously large diamonds, pearls, belt buckles, etc.

Back in the 70s-80's, those huge rose colored glasses were the 'thing'.  Singers, preachers, directors, musicians wore them.  They also wore shades as well.

I personally wear some sort of eyewear just about all the time, whether it be my Prada glasses or some slightly tinted shades.  I don't think I could ever do the full blown dark sunglasses, just because I don't like the look.

James Hall is a trendsetter, and will continue to be.  His music from back in the early 80's still stuns people today as to how advanced it was (and still is).  To be honest, if JH started rockin neckties around his forehead, I would expect others to follow suit.  It's no different from the trend that Tye Tribbett brought to mainstream gospel.

LOL wuuuurd

I take off my hat/durage/tuque and/or shades when I enter the sanctuary just as a sign of respect. I know I wouldn't leave them on when I enter my grandparents house, so why do it in Gods house??
