Question! Why is Zildjian loosing all the major drummers to Sabian
-
Define "all the major drummers". Is it major to you, or is it major, such as Steve Gadd, Steve Smith, etc.?
-
Im not suprised at all.... I knew it wascoming. Sabian has a very good line and has come a very long way. Now dont get me wrong zildjian have a very awesome line and i mean awesome line of cymbals. But I think if your a gospel drummer playing with zildjians they just dont have a big veriety to choose from. Your either using the A custom or K hybrids. oposed to sabian if you play gospel you can use the aax, hhx,aa,or rock the B8's. and thats one of the reasons why i switched to the sabian line.
-
Well..... A professional drummer told me that he has never heard a good sounding sabian cymbal yet
-
Forget what "the professional" told you. What did your ears tell you?! That's all that matters.

Ay,the same could be said about any manufacturer. As min_amw stated (I'm adding an underscore for emphasis), "What did your ears tell you?! That's all that matters."

Though Min and j_kay brought up very valid points, I have another:
Could it be that this professional has never heard a Sabian cymbal yet?

Possibly, or it could be that the ears (read: eyes) are (deafened) blinded by the black ink logos that are emblazoned onto the pies.
I've known a lot of people that have this same syndrome. It's known to be a killer disease! ;D
