I agree whole-heartedly diverse!! I hate when people say learn all your notes without showing you how. T-block practices what he preaches. GOD bless you my bro!!!

Some tips for playing in this key:

1. Don't be scared - This key seems to be one of the most hated keys on the piano/keyboard.  The fact that musicians tell up-and-coming musicians about it doesn't help either.  This isn't a hard key at all, it just takes your fingers some getting used to.  This is one of those keys where consistent practice will give u results.

2. 4th finger usage - Anytime u have a chord that ends with a black note, you will mainly want to use your 4th finger to play that black note.  The exceptions are the stretchy chords, in which u should use your pinky.

3.  Chords - Just like with the key of Eb, there is almost an even distribution of white and black notes in this key (3 white, 4 black).  So, 95% of the time, every chord u play in this key will contain a combination of black and white notes.  If u are playing all black or white notes for a chord, chances are u playing something wrong.

4.  Watch out for G# and D# - In my opinion, the biggest challenge of playing in E is remembering there are 4 sharps.  G# and D# stick out as the sharps most people miss.  Pay attention to chords with these notes in them.

I HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYING LONG,I DON'T UNDER SYAND THESE NOTES WHAT DO YOU DO,WHAT DO EACH HAND DO WITH THE NOTES WHAT DO THE LEFT HAND DO

The chords in this post are written LH/RH, meaning that everything to the left of the slash is played in the left hand and everything to the right of the slash is played in the right hand.  Example:

E / E-G#-B

This means that the note E will be played in the LH and at the same time the chord E-G#-B will be played in the RH.

If you don't understand the notes, then u need to get familiar with the notes of a piano/keyboard then learn some basic music theory.  After that, this post and others like it will make more sense to you.  PM me if u need more help buddy!

I've found that a great way to improve in a key is to find a nice song in that key and learn it inside out.

A lot of Israel's stuff is in E (I believe "Friend of God" is in E)

A song I'm learning now:

I Owe All - James Fortune & F.I.Y.A.

Terrence does some nice little things in this song.

Tip: Learn ALL the little things he's doing.  Why?  We tend to only learn the outline of a song and avoid the little grace notes, melody lines, passing chords, etc...not realizing that those little things are why we like the song so much!!!!  Learning those little nuances also helps to build your vocabulary.
