When the preacher is preaching or there is shouting going on, a lot of musicians run their fingers up and down the organ (or keyboard) real fast. Is this an actual scale or is it just a group of notes that sound good. Also, how do you develop the speed.
-
They are probably doing something like the blues scale. If you want fast finger, the only way you will get that from is to practice it, over and over and over.
-
The best way to develop speed is to practice all 12 scales. Major and Minor Scales and use the PROPER FINGERING for all of them. I know some awesome websites that I used to teach a master class.

you can use a search engine like, Google ( http://www.google.com ) and type in " piano fingering for scales" "scale fingering for piano" something like that and a ton of useful sites will come up. You can also try this with finding out chords or other theories in music.
Also please utilize this site too, it's way more than a message board and chords to songs, 4HisGlory has lessons on here to for those who want to learn the basic of music theory even the scale fingering I believe.
