"Celebration of Discipline" by Richard J. Foster. This book by many is considered one of the greatest spiritual growth/formation books. It is a very "meat and potatoes" book on Christian Spiritual Issues. No cliches!

Also, I don't have any in my collection (except the Maxwell Leadership Bible) but any book by John Maxwell would be great as well!
