I already have one bass (every guitar player should have at least one), but this new offering just kinda' caught my eye - it all starts with the eye  ;):

I was wondering if/when they were gonna do that.  The Squire VM Jazz is a home run value.  Now the 5-string version is only $30 more.  Smooth move Fender.

Let me find out that you're over there having a Jazz Bass praise break  ;).  I'm not even looking for a bass, but man....this one has me thinking.

All Fenders (to date) use 34" scale necks.  Beware that a 35" scale does not absolutely guarantee superior low B performance.

Why?

played a lakland 55-01 and I liked how the 35" b-string felt/ played

I know you can achieve it with a 34", I just decided I want a 35" scale.

might just have to buy a 55-01 .... one day LOL

The guy I bought that new Fender V 24 of mine from had one of those in white ... He modded the pre though ... actually this brother has great taste in basses.. He had a few others that were nice as well.. Squire is not what they used to be back in the day..
