Hey LGM,
I'm trying to expand my playing more and want to go from "that's sounds good" to "that sounds amazing"! There are so many DVDs out there that I don't know which one to look into. Basically I'm looking for a dvd that would be for the Intermediate keyboard player that would enhance my sound a little bit more. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

I would say an easy way is to get copies if the music that makes you say wow and then learn it. I am partly working on that myself. I use VLC player to slow the music down.

They are a little pricey
but well worth it
Barry Harris workshop Dvd part two
the total cost is 100 dollars
but you get four dvds each
packed with valuable information
that breaks down to about 25 per dvd.
the other thing i would look at is
how you learn. versus the format the dvd is in.
for example
I have every single dvd that wheatworks put out
and just about every one hear and play has
and about four products that JAmal put out,
out of all of these
the product I got the most out of was
ETHEL Caffie austin
gospel piano 1&2
her approach was unlike any other format on any other production
although her playing is very traditional
so you wont get any contemporary stuff
but her groove and playing are really tight
and she will get you playing
devotionals and hymns
right away
the
beauty of her approach is that
she will take a song and teach it
in three or four levels
a very easy version that would take a beginner a few days or weeks to perfect
then she adds a couple of things to to make the beginner version more interesting
then she teaches an intermediate version
which you may not be ready for until next year
but you can rip a couple of techniques to insert into your beginner version
then she does an advanced version
and outlines some key things
she did on the song
the wisdom of this approach is that it is exactly how you would learn if you went to a good
traditional piano teacher
you learn songs that are on your level. first
then you get more and more elaborate
that being said.
another recommendation
is the jamal hartwell products
they break down stuff
this is the exact opposite of ethel caffie austins because he is straight contemporary
another project for the beginner is
hear and play 201
i highly recommend this one as well.
any of the Wheat works products are really good
like pj morgan piano
or kc production
so my
recommendation in order
for real learnin
Ethel Caffie Austin
Jamal worship extreme
hear and play worship 201
good luck

sorry I re read
you already play pretty well
in that case.
I would say
any of the wheatworks piano stuff
would fit the bill
john peters
pj morgan
doobie powel
trina trine
call him up and ask him he will tell you the break down on each one.,

Thanks for the help Diverse. Some of these dvds I have not heard of before and will be looking into all of them!
