Title: Question about playing behind soloists

Question for my fellow musicians: say you're playing behind a tone deaf soloist that constantly veers off into different keys. Do you: (a) change keys with the soloist (even if that means you have to stop playing for a second to find the key), (b) keep playing in the key you're in even if it's off, or (c) stop playing altogether?

I usually stop if it's a song I don't know. If I know the song I might play in the first key and hope they get on track or change keys with them. People at the master level could probably make them sound good flowing in and out of keys.

I would add option D, play in a key that's mid-way between what you hear and what the soloist is singing. That way, yall can meet in the middle at some point, lol.

For real tho, option C is the best. Let them do it accapella.

Transpose your instrument to 432Hz tuning
