JUNE 2020

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND
by Marsha Burns

June 16, 2020:  Many of you, My people, are feeling unloved and rejected.  Allow My love to surround, permeate, and lift you up.  I love and care for you above and beyond what you can understand; it is a love that is eternal.   Let love be perfected in you and pour out of you towards one another.  Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hello lovely persons :) :)again i am attempting to convince these 2 talented young people to come out of retirement and help us mature folks out. Notice i did not say old, because old is not associated with any age limit in the bible.  ?/? ?/? ?/?. Any who i need your help, this site was so awesome to come to and find what you needed in a way that you could understand the song that was chorded out. Please please iam not throwing shade on any of the other individuals who have labored and posted songs, or have a web site set up that you pay for to use. I applaud you for all you do, but its just something about chorded songs on paper that are such much easier to learn and follow at your own pace. Ohhhh don't let me forget the other blessed young man Fennert, i know i just killed your name because iam not on the page to see the correct spelling, no harm intended because you are in the arena with T-Block and Val. With this pandemic it has hurt alot of people with so far as there coinage, i am one of those. So i have to find ways to continue my learning that work with my purse. :-\ :-\ :-\. I love all of you that post and have web-sites keep up the good work, but i started out with LGM back in the 2002 and iam a mature lady so i prefer and loved the way T-Block, Val, and Ferrette, posted. Please young man don't shoot me for KILLING YOUR NAME. Be blessed, stay safe, continue to trust in God who is in control and hear and answer prayer. So all SAINTS lets touch and agree to get those 3 back in action. YYYYYYEEEESSS ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I haven't posted since 2017 LOL.... Hey y'all. Dang, I was looking through old posts, I was really going through some stuff years ago. Lawd, thank you for growth. How's everyone doing?

Not likely anymore. Technology has moved us all on to bigger and better things.

There's a new site?

Gospel Music Lounge / Re: How important is age when learning piano?
« Last post by B_X on May 24, 2020, 12:04:07 AM »
I think about that a lot. I could’ve learned when I was a child( my dad was a MOM). Both he and my grandma were organists. I just turned 50 and have a great piano teacher. I don’t practice like I should but am making progress, but could b better. I agree... age is not a reason to give up.

I have not logged into LGM in years, and amazingly, I am learning to play the piano for school. I am an Audio Engineering major and am taking music classes..... I just turned 39, so I really thought my age was going to hinder me learning to play. I am so glad that I came in the room.... Thanks y'all.

This was by far, the best site for me and my church as we pieced together a band and then home grew that band! I serve as the Sr. Pastor of a faith community I established way back in 1995. We are celebrating 25 years here in 2020! What a blessing this site was for me to come to and teach those who had a passion to play but no skills. All of these years later, our band, which started out pitifully, has been invited to play on numerous occasions at various venues!! I have told them if they found a place that would pay them far better than the $2 over lunch money we give, then go! I couldn't get rid of these guys if I paid them! Many thanks to all the musicians from the way back, who freely gave and still give of their tremendous God-given gifts! With all the vast technology out there now, there is no place like this site that provides the comfort and familiarity of getting the basics and more from real masters of the game. I and my church family, consider ourselves so blessed as a result of the LGM community. Many thanks to you all!!

I am still around.   I guess I am old school because I am not on twitter/snapchat/facebook/instagram  etc.   I still play but a job change in the last year has moved me to Dallas Texas.   Prior to that I was  was still playing for my church and also had a community praise team that we ( me and a few of my musician friends) were building up.  Well I moved to Dallas ( I live in Desoto but work in uptown Dallas) in november of 2019  and the pandemic hit in march. So I have not yet found a church home  in texas but am  waiting for the corona virus  quarantines to be over ( and  for me to feel comfortable going out) before my family starts  its new search for a church home.

The wife and I are empty nesters now ( one kid working in Austin, the other still in college in Oregon).  but I still check in here from time to time just to see whats going on.  Seems like a few months back the site was completely down, Nice to see its back up and running again. I know technology moves forward but there is still a purpose and a place for LGM

I'm still kick-in....  Living in Dallas Texas now, well Desoto specifically.  Been here about 9 months, but didn't get a chance to secure a church home  before the pandemic hot.  I am looking for suggestions.  Anyplace where the word is preached  and the music  is  flowing  is welcome.
