To find a piano teacher in the California area, first choose the region you live in then choose a piano teacher listed in a town or city near you.   If you do decide to use the services of any of our members, please tell them you found them through Piano World.   Houston Piano Lessons

I teach piano in the Camarillo, Cali, and Thousand Oaks area. At the moment, I have 5 students. All students required to play in recitals.

Sounds fun, ehhhh?????

Wow, you're close to me. :)

I have about 20-25 students at the moment; got some new ones through an ad in the local paper, but have been losing students due to the economy - people have been cutting back...

Do you teach gospel organ? I'm the minister of music at First Baptist Church in Camarillo... Just got this C3 ... beautiful! But, can't play it. I'm darn good piano player though....

{sigh} envy you your C3 - would like to hear it and you! I'm mostly a piano player myself, though I can 'fake' it on the organ....

That's about what I'm doing. I purchased this organ course from the 70's, which cost around $800 THEN, and I purchased it for $10.00. It has finger exercises for the keyboard manuals as well as the pedal board.

So, I figure, I'm going to go through that as an initial course ... just to get my darn fingers used to playing on separate manuals and such.... and work on the pedal board, in particular.

How about your piano students? Do you hold recital for them? If so, where at?

I don't usually do recitals - instead encourage them to play for family and friends, talent shows at school/church, etc. I did give one recital with another teacher a couple of years ago...

That's what I'll end up doing in May! My students will be giving their recital with my pastor's wife's students. I have one student learning Rachmanninoff Prelude G Minor Opus 23, No. 5.... GREAT piece!

Couple others playing Amazing Grace, Give Thanks, and some other tune ...

It's fun watching them progress! AND the excitement they show when it comes time for piano lessons!!! YAY!!!!!!

I don't ever remember being excited when the piano teacher showed up at the front doorstep!
