Picking a favorite is hard but here are a few I'm listening to and have seen live!
but...

Chip Shearin with Pieces of a Dream & Marion Meadows.  Beast!!!!
Marcus Miller - classic master
Andrew Gouche - song master
Adam Nitti is cool also.  Great teacher!
Keith Horne - Nashville guy. really slick also
Victor Wooten.. not too shabby either.

A short list would be:

Marcus Miller
Bootsy Collins
Flea

at least, these are probably my biggest influences.

We've mentioned many of the bassists both past and present that have influenced us in the learning process of our gift.
Each of them have a distinctive style that either sets them apart from the rest.
From His gifts comes my praise.

I heard a guy named Jared Weaver at a praise and worship concert I went to on Thursday 3/16/06.

This guy was unreal. He played a Yamaha 5 string and played through a Eden head and an Eden 4x10 cab.

Wow! I have not heard this name in many years!! Would you happen to know what he's famous for? I'll give a hint. He played on the very first rap song played on national radio!
"Never Leave Home Without Your Groove On" :)
