I happened to notice the post that said Jeff LaValley taught Twinkie Clark. We're great friends, but I didn't teach Twinkie.   She is fantastic in her own right, and is also one of my favorite musicians. I'm honored to be mentioned in the same sentence, as she has also inspired me throughout the years.  God bless all.

« Reply #53 on: November 23, 2005, 07:55:07 PM »
I from Queens, NY and some of the baddest come from NY
1 Butch Heyward (my teacher and Idol!)

2 Leon Bryant, Day Star and Evangelistic churches in  Queens.  This dude was a child prodigy in the late 60's and early 70's.  Was playing on commercials in his teens.  Went to R+B in the 1980s.  Every now and then he comes around and just blows everyone away still all these years later!

3 Bishop Micheal Rogers(origainally from Bklyn,NY but Pastoring in VA.Anyone rember those Bibleway Albums back in the late 70's and early 80's?  Off the hook!

4 Julian and Kenneth Varner Greater refuge Temple in Harlem 1970's -1991 These brothers were so underated!
 Alfred White
Stanley Brown
David Frazier
Barry Watkins
Mike and Leroy Joseph
David Bratton
Pastor Antione White
Cliff Hawkins
Bishop Eric McDaniel
Willard Meeks
Elder Quinton White( Jazz is in the house!)
Stanley Luke (WOW)
There are so many more in NYC but these guys are just some of my all time favorites!
