Sonar and Fruity Loops
« on: September 13, 2005, 08:40:03 AM »
Hello,

Newbie to this site and forum.  I 've been producing for about 10 years using the Cakewalk products. I've been looking for a program to use mainly as a drum machine that could integrate into Sonar seemlessly. I have Vsampler which sounds good, but is not the easiest to setup for drums.  Is anyone using Fruity Loops with Sonar, and if so, how are you using it?  I have played around with the stand alone demo.  It seems pretty easy to auditions samples and setup banks.

Thanks In Advance,

I have Fruity Loops but not very familiar with that yet...I am more of a Reason fan when it comes to drums (loops mainly) and that's works like a charm and easy to create beats. :D

HEY WAZZ UP MAN. IM USING FRUITYLOOPS AND AS FAR AS MY NEEDS GO WITH IT, IT SERVES ME WELL. BASICALLY I JUST USE IT FOR DRUM AD MPC PROGRAMMING. IT USUALLY TAKES SOME OF TIME BUT I CAN PROGRAM A WHOLE SONG JUST FOR THE DRUMS AND LOOPING THE MPC.

IM GOING TO UPLOAD A SONG THAT I DID THE DRUMS ON TO SHOW YOU HOW GOOD IT SOUNDS. AND IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS I CAN TRY TO ANSWER THEM TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.

I have played around with FL 4 Producer edition.. It integrates seamlessly with Sonar but I just got tired of all the hangups with Plugins so I started just exporting everything from Reasons, FL and Acid as WAV files and importing them into Sonar... The main reason I bought Protools (MBOX) was because it supported Rewire which lets you treat Reasons as a plugin.. but Protools plugin support is alot more stable than Sonars so I don't have any freezes or crashes...  I still prefer Sonar to Protools.. I just wish Sonar supported Rewire.

It does support rewire, well then again, it depends on what version of SONAR you have...I know my version supports it!  :D

Yeah..! youre right.. I just started looking through all the menus and it does support rewire.  Can't believe I never noticed that..  good.. cause Protools is a memory and processor hog.  I just picked it up a couple of days ago so I can still take it back and get Reasons 3.0 or a new mic or something..  Thanks.[/quote]

A friend of mine basically does his drums in Fl and then records it into Cakewalk as an audio track. Seems to sound good.
