Simeon Baker-Glad about it (Joe Pace-Glad about it)

I change my vote!  One of the vocalist ministered this song Two Sundays ago, with an Accompaniment Track...  Goodness...

Immediately everybody in the church looked at me... Okay maybe not everybody, but enough people gave me that look, like you gotta learn this one.  After service I walked straight to the sound booth and asked If i could escort the CD back to its owner so that I might ask if I could borrow it.

So i will definately be shedding to this one...

Mr. Baker is something else.

There's a song by Luther Vandross ( I can't remember the name of it) that was recently re-done by him, this time featuring Beyonce Knowles of Destiny's Child.  In the very beginning of the song, you hear a bass line...so pretty.
The Closer I Get To You, originally done by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack, I think.  It is very pretty.  I wonder if Marcus Miller played on the Luther track.

I would also like to add a classic.

Lovely Day - by Bill Withers...........a serious groove

If you've never gotten into Bill Withers' music, check him out.  He is one of the best songwriters ever.  Anybody can listen to him.  ALL of his music is positive.

I can't remember the artist but the name of the song id called "slide" awesome bassline if anyone can help please let me know who it is, peace!

Slide was originally done by Slave back in 1977 the Album was called Street Jams - Back to the Old
Cameo & Lakeside both did a cover of the song, but the original was the bomb, at the time I was playing with New Birth & was on a tour along with Slave.

You played for New Birth?  Cool.  That lead singer still got that range.  "It's Been A Long Time" is my jam.  Is that you playing on the track?

Also, some people got "Slide" mixed up with a song called "Glide" by a group called Pleasure.  "Glide" is my bass testing song.

One of my FAVORITE old school albums that I have not found on CD is the New Birth album with the person stepping out of the Black Egg.  Were you on that one and do you know if it ever got recorded to CD?

Although this may be vague, there are too many to name, but any Motown song always has great bass, especially Bob Babbit and James Jamerson.

Also:
A remark you made - Jaco Pastorius (Joe Zawinul)
I want you back - Jermaine Jackson (Jackson 5)
Good times - Bernard Edwards (Chic)
Suninga - Richard Bona
Muntula Moto - Richard Bona
Last train home - ? (Pat Metheny)
The whole 'Those Southern Nights' abum - ? (The Crusaders)
Graceland - Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon)
Diamonds in the soles of her shoes - Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon)
Crazy Love part 2 - Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon)

The bassists that I don't know are because I wasn't alive back then and haven't been able to find their names.  I'm 17.

Jerry Jordan (Love Paid The Price/Edwin Hawkins - Dallas Music & Arts Seminar) Too smooth!!!!! No slap & pop.

The late, great Mr. Anthony Harmon (He's My Everything/Rev. Clay Evans & The AARC Mass Choir) Awesome!
