A major scale is based off the movement of half and whole steps.

Arpeggios as fillers.
Any chord can basically played as an arpeggio.
A one hand arpeggio can be played in the right hand by playing each note in the chord separately then moving up the keyboard one octave and repeat the process.

Two ways a two handed arpeggio can be play is like a leap frog type game or following the leader.

Minorfalls as fillers.
A minor chord can be used to fill gaps in your music by playing the minor chord and dropping the root of the chord in half steps.
Ex Cminor chord
play CEbG then drop the C 2 or 3 halfsteps (C,B,Bb) or (C,B,Bb,A).
Another filler you can use is to play the minor chord and drop the same chord 2 halfsteps.
Ex Cminor chord
play CEbG then play Bminor and Bbminor
Progressions
The very basic of progressions is using the 1-4-5 progression.
The 1-4-5 progression is basically playing the 1 chord, the 4 chord, and the 5 chord of the major scale.

The 2-5-1 progression is basically playing the 2 chord, the 5 chord, and the 1 chord of the major scale.

Left Hand Chording
The left hand can be used complement the right hand when not playing bass notes. One way of playing a left hand chord is to use the same chord as the right hand.

You can also use the 3 and b7 of the chord as in the case of a C7 chord.
