I would first like to say that I've noticed by my playing as of late that my biggest influence beside God is every drummer that I've had the privilege of hearing, good and bad. But, if I were to pick a favorite drummer it would be Lil' John Roberts.

Im a pocket drummers so mos def. Calvin "Coon" Napper, Terry Baker, Calvin Rodgers, Ladell Abrams, Jeff Davis. Then my trick fellas Aaron Spears, Gerald Heyward (so nice on the set) Carlin McCullar (gospel chops) its so many man i cant even put them in enough catagories!

I love the drummers that are anointed, humble and doing the work of the LORD. Their priorities are GOD, Ministry, Family and then themself. They play not for fame, money or status/clout, but under the unction and movement of the HOLY GHOST. They aren't ashamed to come off their instruments and give GOD praize and their daily lifestyle is complimentary to their lifestyle at church. So ladies and gentleman if you fall within this category then you are my favorite drummer because you are headed down the same path I am of GOD's design and manifestation to another LEVEL in PRAISE, POWER, WORSHIP and the ANOINTING

when i was younger i could say my fav was marvin mcquitty but the past 2 yrs ive heard alot of other drummers now i dont have a favorite i dont even have a top ten or twenty i think EVERY drummer has somethin to offer to the table but when i was younger most def marvin mcquitty i have alot of his style in my playing cuz fred hammond is all my dad listens to... so yeah i fell in love wit marvin but my parents got a divorse lol so yeah i get to hear many other drummers long story short no one shoule have 1 favorite drummer

I don't see anything wrong with what Spider said. A question was asked, and he gave his answer.....just like everyone else. Yes this is a christian website, but even WE "christians" have to be reminded of keeping things in perspective sometimes. It's all love though.
